8th January 2019 marks the start of construction of the second-phase production line of Hailiang Otto Copper Tube (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Thailand Hailiang) smart manufacturing project with an annual output of 30,000 tons of high-efficient energy saving and environmental-friendly precise copper tubes. Muqun Yang, vice general manager of Thailand Hailiang, together with other high-level managers attend the ceremony.
Hailiang's newly developed melting and casting horizontal continuous casting unit and technology, planetary rolling equipment and technology, intelligent consecutive bright annealing furnace and technology, on-line annealing furnace and technology and other scientific and technological achievements are adopted during the construction of the second-phase project. Informationalized manufacturing execution system (MES) and system applications and products (SAP) will be integrated with each other and applied in the project. In such way, the traditional manufacturing mode managed by employees will be changed and upgraded to a new mode featuring fully automatic informationization and high efficiency. Therefore, purposes such as energy saving and environmental protection will be achieved. After the completion of the project, the production capacity will reach a new level with an annual output of 30,000 tons of high-efficient energy saving and environmental-friendly precise copper tubes being added.
The main focus of Thailand Hailiang is to produce copper products for air conditioner and refrigerator in refrigeration field, such as copper coils and smooth copper tubes with small diameter thin-walled internal thread for air conditioner, and oxygen-free copper tubes for electronic communications, etc. Products of the second-phase project enjoy a high-end reputation in the industry, which are apparently in line with international standards in terms of technology, quality and specifications. With an annual output of 30,000 tons being added, the total production capacity of Thailand Hailiang can now reach 55,000 tons per year. Given the production layout of Hailiang Stock at home and abroad, the Thailand copper processing industry will definitely achieve rapid development.
The construction of the second-phase project, under the guidance of “achieving leapforward development in nonferrous materials smart manufacturing”, is an important initiative of Hailiang towards a higher end, smarter, more technological, higher brand reputation, and more globally competitive development.
